Emily Jaworski, Soprano

Soprano Emily Jaworski has been earning praise as a singer in demand due to her "good stage presence, solid acting prowess and pleasing vocal ability" (Opera Online).  The 2008-2009 season was a whirlwind, featuring company and role debuts as Norina in Don Pasquale with Longwood Opera, and as Emily Webb in Ned Rorem's Our Town with Raylynmor Opera.  Ms. Jaworski also appeared as Annina in Granite State Opera's highly acclaimed production of La Traviata.  A passionate advocate of art song, Ms. Jaworski is a frequent recitalist and in the spring of 2008, she was  named a National Semi-Finalist in the Artist Award Competition sponsored by the National Association of Teachers of Singing. This season will feature an alumni recital at Susquehanna University, as well as two collaborations with the New Hampshire Master Chorale  : Handel's Messiah in December and Mozart's Mass in C Minor in April of 2010. Other upcoming engagements include Opera New Hampshire's Outreach Tour, Zweite Zofe in Zemlinsky's Der Zwerg with Opera Hub, and a debut as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni with the newly formed New Hampshire Opera Theatre.

Ms. Jaworski earned the Master of Music degree in voice performance from Boston University, where she was featured in scenes from Handel’s Alcina, Blitzstein’s Regina, and Haydn’s Il Mondo Della Luna.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, where she appeared as The Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute, as well as performing the soprano solos in Vaughan Williams’ Mass in G Minor.  She has been a featured soloist with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus both in Boston’s Symphony Hall and Tanglewood’s Ozawa Hall.  

Ms. Jaworski is also in demand as a teacher, choral conductor and music director.  She is a native of Pennsylvania, and currently resides in Concord, New Hampshire.
